Trim removal

Hey guys I have a 1971 delta 88 2 door and I might try painting it myself so my first question is how do I remove the trim that runs from front to back mid fenders and doors

The original side trim was held on with plastic clips and it was different between Delta 88 and Delta Royale (Royale is wider). A plastic scraper can pop most of that off, but there's probably a stud and nut at the very back of the quarter-panel piece that can be accessed from inside the trunk. Sometimes the front fender pieces will also have those.

Looks like you have some aftermarket on there which could be either stick-on or riveted on. Stick-on, use a hair dryer or heat gun and peel it off. Riveted will need the insert popped out and rivets drilled out- and then you get to fill the holes.
