Ok are the grilles for a 71 Cutlass metal or plastic as I'm seeing both.as answer? Also is there a difference between a S ans Supreme Grille minus the emblem?

 

The grilles for the Supreme are metal, and have vertical bars with script for 'Cutlass Supreme'. The grilles for the 'S' are plastic and have horizontal bars with 'Oldsmobile' script. The are no grille bars on the 442, and I'm not sure what they are made of, and they have the numbers 442.

 

Ok on that note if I pickup a set of the steel supremme grills will the oldsmobile emblem mount onto it or am I stuck with the plastic S grilles?

 

My 442 grilles are reproduction and they are plastic mesh. I'm not sure if the originals were plastic or metal? I'm thinking they are probably plastic.
