Roof panel question
Roof panel question
My body code in the fisher guide is 87, that code is applicable to most cutlasses and 442 models. This is my dilemma the roof panels available which may be thin and lees reliable than finding a new roof is more cost effective. All manufacturers of roof panels say they do not fit cutlass supremes which is what I have. If the body code of 87 is the same which identifies the roof wouldnt it be the same skin? I have a 69 supreme.
Is this a case of too many complained it didnt fit because they had bad bodywork guys? Much like hooker headers or is there really a difference?

You know, if Supremes were really as different from other Cutli as some of these vendors claim, we'd have some really unique automobiles!
And you can always tell when a vendor is not familiar with the car he's peddling parts for. Seems like if you're going to be an Olds (or Chevy, or Mopar, or Ford) parts vendor you would make a point of knowing your target intimately.

No, it's just a case of stupidity or laziness on the part of the vendor. The 1970-72 Supremes DID use a different roof panel from the non-Supreme Cutlii, but prior to that, the Supremes used exactly the same body panels as all other A-body cars. Whoever wrote the catalog doesn't understand that. Unfortunately I cannot speak to the quality of the repro part because I have no experience with it.
