Green Engine Paint

I’m having the valve lifters replaced in my 55. While the valve covers are off I’d like to take the opportunity to repaint them. The current paint is flaking off. Anybody know the name or code number of that green paint? How about the gold lettering color? I’ve found the green paint on Fusick but they want $13 to ship one can of paint. We have a really good custom paint matching place (NCS) that has matched the other colors on the car. I found a place called Inline that markets a color that they say is correct but the review says it’s closer to John Deere green. The thing is if I knew the color names or codes I wouldn’t have to pay a matching fee. Also, is one can enough to paint the valve covers and the intake manifold? Thanks in advance.

Years ago, a retired Olds employee who worked the engine lines in the 50s wrote a JWO article in which he said the 50s Olds Green engine paint came in 55 gallon drums labeled "Machinery Industrial Green". So he right then and there debunked all the claims by suppliers that only they had the correct Oldsmobile Green.

AFAIK that Machinery Green is still available. A lot of equipment at the powerplant I worked at was painted that color, and we had 30 gallon drums of it.

Spray bombs are considered hazmat for shipping is why it's so expensive. Do you have access to spray painting equipment?

I do have a paint sprayer, both the one with a screw on can and the little plastic bottle one. Do you know a place to get that paint?
