Soffseal vs. Steele 66 Big car roof rail weatherstripping test
Gang,
I did a head to head test of roof rail weatherstripping for my 66 Starfire over past 2 weeks. Short story is Soffseal wins for being less noisy.
A couple of weeks ago I was hearing more wind noise than I like from my windows. I was doing a Steele order for other stuff so I thought I'd try their 66 Delta 88 2 door window weatherstripping. The Steele product's fit, quality and finish were just fine.
Unfortunately it was a step backwards (i.e. noisier) than Soffseal.
So I put the Soffseal back in today and it's back to normal. I have the impression that Soffseal is ever-so-slightly larger so it forms a tighter, quieter seal.
Just to finish this out, I really like Steele for other stuff like bumper rubber and other reproduction pieces. I just like the Soffseal weatherstripping better.
Hope this helps some of you.

However, Steele is better for the quarter windows seals!
Steele puts a metal core in their quarter window to front window seals, almost like GM, soffseal doesn’t.
Soffseal front door to body seals are better than Steele. Smoother rubber finish. Maybe a bit thicker for better seal too.
