oldsmobile trunk letters
oldsmobile trunk letters
I want to replace the oldsmobile letters on my 71 supreme convertible and have heard that some suppliers sell some letter kits that are crooked when installed! Where should I purchase these from? Thanks.
Yes, I have heard of this, also, several years ago.
One set would have crooked 'L's, another set would look straight.
Why two sets and which is correct? I do not hear about the crooked set in the parts catalogs lately...

Year One sells both. The way I understood it they were crooked from the factory. A few letters, I believe the L's and the I are slanted slightly. I went with the crooked version to be "correct".
When I got my car the letters were missing so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I saw a nice original looking '72 in town the other day. In the conversation with the owner I looked at the rear deck lid and said "Hmmm". He said "What" I said "The original letters are crooked" To that he said" You're right, I've never noticed that before" He has had the car 20 years.
