Question Need Body work and paint in the Los Angeles area

Can anyone refer me to some good places to get body work and paint done in the Los Angeles area? not looking for a show car paint job but want someone who is fair and familiar with real steel cars. I have gotten all sorts of opinions but this is something i wont trust to just anyone. Any and all referrals are appreciated although i prefer ones from people who have experienced the work first hand.

thanks,
Eric

IMO best thing to do is to contact some car clubs,go to a few car shows, see some first hand work and get their opinions. From there you can go see some of the places, talk to the owners and get a feel for their work. One thing to look for is a good spray booth, clean shop and how the cars being worked on are cared for in different stages of their work.

This.

If their shop isn't clean, it means your paint job will be full of dirt or have "fish eyes". Plus, if you hang around a body shop long enough, you'll get an idea what kind of work they'll do to your car. And if the paint booth isn't great, more than likely your paint job will be full of dirt. Even though you aren't looking for a show car, lots of pieces of dirt will make the car look really bad and take away a nice shine.

You might consider joining the Olds Club of America and contact Grant Warner in your area; he is on the Race Committee and spearheads the Olds Club car shows in So. Cal. grantw@sportsfacilitiesgroup.com

Thanks and sorry it took so long to reply, once I am back in town I will join the club and attend some events. I never really considered that angle but it is a great suggestion.
