Cool Mid-windows weatherstrips

Hi guys, I am restoring my 1983 Olds Hurst and I need to change the mid-windows weatherstrips. I've been looking everywhere to get them either new or used (in good conditions) but I haven't been able to do so. Does any one have a set for sale or know where I can find those weatherstrips for the mid-windows? I will appreciated.

You can send me a message to Olds8066@gmail.com or leave me a message here too.

Vr/

Welcome aboard Cesar!

1983 HO is a very nice car, glad you are restoring it.

Are you talking about the roof rail weather strip? Have a look at this link and see if it's what you're looking for. Steele Rubber Products
Hardtop roof rail weatherstrip. This part fits on the roof of the vehicle and seals the side window when the window is fully raised.

NO Allan the window that I am talking about is the one behind of the driver door that little one that is located on the quater panel. Some people called it Opera window.

So you are talking about the SAIL PANEL window. Usually when folks describe 'mid' window they are looking for the seal between the driver glass and rear window. In your case the only thing that made sense to me was the window seal mentioned above.

I did some checking on the G Body forum and found this answer to your question:
There arent gasket type seals behind those theres a urethane sealant that doesnt ever cure. They call it rope caulk I believe, it comes on a roll in different size beads. When you pull the windows get some soapy water in a spray bottle and soak the side of the car around and under the glass to keep the old glue from messing up your paint. Its nasty stuff, id wear gloves too... it s pretty messy to clean up

That forum also had this listed if you need it.

Allan, Thanks for your help. I already contacted that guys for the windows. Lets see what happen. I do need other parts that I will listed later to see if I can find it. For example I will look for the chrome trim of the driver bucket seat that you see when you open the door. I will provide you a pics later to see if you can help me with that too.

once again, thanks a lot bro.

GM Allan, by any chance do you know who might have a center console for my 1983 Hurst? It's color sand grey.

Those quarter windows do not use a weatherstrip..... They use a urethane window sealer which you can purchase in a tube.....

cruzn66, thanks for the information. What I referee to was the black and chrome rubber piece that goes around the glass. But I appreciate your inputs. Have a nice day.

I don't know anyone here who would have that but there might be some folks who have the G Body parts. I did a quick Google search and found this on eBay. It's listed as new reproduction. Are you interested in something like this?

That being the case, the piece you are looking for was only produced as part of the glass assembly and was not sold separately by GM and to my knowledge there is no company reproducing the trim or the glass even as an assembly.... Your best bet will be a used assembly.... With that being said, also be cautious of used assemblies since there were two designs manufactured by GM.... One for Vinyl Top Vehicles and one for Non-Vinyl Top.... the Non-Vinyl top assembly uses a wider trim piece around the glass...

Cruzn66 thanks for the information. I will see if I can find an used ones but the only way to verify the conditions is having them in front of me. I just want to find all the parts that I need and complete my restoration. I'll see what I can do.
