Engine brackets,pullys etc

>>> I'm looking to have the Altinator, A.C.and power steering brackets, pullys etc powder coated black on my 69 400 original engine. Anybody know if they should be satin black or semi gloss. Hard to tell looking @ the original parts. The brake, e-brake and accellerator parts look like they are a satin black but they too could just be worn out as well. Trying to restore to as original as I can so would like to get the finish correct. THANKS

I believe that 60% gloss powder coat is the acceptable equivalent to a factory match. That is what I use, and it looks good to me.

60% should be good. A good powdercoater will be able to coat small pieced of scrap metal with a few close colors so you can judge how they look and how they compare with originals.

Ask if the coaters can plug the shaft holes in pullies, so that you will not have to grind the coating out to get them on the shaft.

>>> THANKS. Actually stoped at the powder coater during lunch and settled on a finish just as you describe. Saw some samples that look perfect. By the way any of you Olds gold guys know of a good powder coat match. My guy says the only to do it is have the powder mixed @ quite an expense
