gotcha, after i stripped out my doors they dont sag anymore and are light as a feather, close with one finger. still need to order the hinge renew kits though. unless i leave out the glass and regulators and just drive the car on nice days with all the windows down weigh the reg and a piece of glass and a handfull of sand and you should be close to what was pulled out.

and in case you missed my post Stan due to you not having your pot of coffee yet my stuff is all packed away

but I do get 220 to my garage this week which my wife likes instead of using her dryer plug all the time lol

I am enjoying my coffee and Irish Cream right now!

Why sandbagging? I did not know you needed to do this to just to install the door and align the hinges...
Am I missing something?

you guys suck I just got milk in mine lol

Rob if you hang and align the door without the full weight of glass and guts the door has a risk of sagging a little and throwing the alignment out once everything is back in it

my car has never been gapped since I have owned it so I need to make sure I have everything set before I tear it all apart again for paint prep plus I had to replace one of my original doors as well

ok wes, the things i do at 7 am makes my wife shake her head. borrowed her weight watchers scale with the digital readout. grabbed a vent window and frame, side window, and regulator. 259.4 lb, then without carparts, 231.6 lb, hey, i was fully clothed and wearing shoes, comes to 27.4 lbs. add inside outside doorhandles, door panel, arm rest, maybe 35lbs? yup, small child

iirc, 66 post doors complete are about 75 lb so use a bigger child to mimic one lol

Joe good thing I have more than one Kid thanks

on a more serious note the hinge pin rebuild kit I got doesn`t work..........
I need 2 5/8 pins for my hinges but the ones I got are 2 3/8

I measured 3 sets of hinges to make sure I didn`t have a bad hinge
does anyone know of a correct pin I can use?

I did some searching on some other forums.......

It seems the repop kits are all to small for the hinges

So what you have to do is set the pin with a chisel

So stuck my hinge in the vise and drifted the pin with one of my dull chisels worked alright..... rehung the door with no issue
