x2 you need the core support also. If your going to be using the 442 grills you will need a 71/72 core support. If your going to be using the 72 Cutlass S/Cutlass Supreme grills you will need a 72 only core support. Also the headlight surrounds and bezels from the 70 would not be compatible.

Not quite as easy as that.

I never considered it, so I can't be 100% positive, but I believe you'd have to change a lot to make it look like the factory did it.

To do it and make it look factory, you'll need either a 71 or 72 radiator support, 71/72 front bumper, park lamps, probably at least some of the front bumper bracketry, grilles, headlight plastic surrounds and bezels, stone shield and hood.

This is where you sell the 70 and buy a 72.

Don't forget the entire front bumper/lamps/housings/braces, hood release, hood & latches + front bumper mounts need to be changed. Basically you're changing the entire front clip (sans fenders)

Just out of curiosity what front end grills are you thinking looks so much radically better? Cutlass Supreme grills are cheap now. Cutlass and Cutlass S grills are just coming out and they're bloody expensive.

...and once you're done, anybody who notices the '72 front end on the '70 will wonder how bad the damage to the front end in the accident was...at least, that's always my first thought. I have a '70 with a full '72 front clip, and a few other '72 parts scattered around it. Bought it that way but without the history of the car. It had a lot of repair work done a long time ago, and a repaint.

Ultimately though, your car, make it look how you like. Yes, you can bolt the '71/2 front end parts on, but as mentioned in the previous posts it's all or nothing...

Oooh, almost forgot. You'll need the headlight painted eyebrows from 71/72 as well to replace the chrome ones.
It can be done, but it's a front clip removal kind of ordeal.
Good luck.
