Aftermarket Big scooped W30 style hood

I'm looking for info on an aftermarket W30 style hood with enlarged scoops! It's not the 69H/O hood but rather the 70-72 style. I like the original the best but for my application I'm curious if this would work. Anybody know the maker?

Never heard of what you're talking about. The hood the W30s came with from 70-72 is called the W25 and there are a lot of vendors that sell them as repro. The most expensive and closest to OEM construction/fit is the glass/metal one from Thornton. At 2500.00

Yes 4speed455 that's it thank you!!! Is it just RR that has those? Also do you know if a victor with a dominator would fit under that bad boy? I really don't want to have to use the typo a chevelle/slowmaro style cowl induction on my olds!

Cool, I'm guessing that would be a pin on?

No worries. I'm glad you were able to find the hood you were looking for. It's the first time I've seen that version. Hope it all works out the way you want. If you buy it please update us with the fitment and final install.

There is a bolt on and pin on version. As far as what fits I would call RR. I do remeber seeing a different version maybe made by someone else that had the area berween the scoops above the carb area flush with the scoops. Maybe somebody else know how made that one.

I will! My car is currently Chebby 502 powered but I'm acquiring parts for my NASCAR block build! I might go exotic and go full Batten heads since I have a line on a nice set but I also might just have BTR do up a set of Edelbrocks. Either way it will be F2 procharged and 8-1200hp depending on boost levels. I'm just hoping I can fit it all under that raised Rocket Racing hood!

Both look like quality pieces but I like the stock style RR one better! The other looks like a huge block towards the cowl area. Thank you for the research!

A third version. The glasstek hood has the entire length between the scoops raised some.

Yes, that is the one I was referring to, I like it better than the others for looks and clearance.

The RR hood is the Glasstek hood and the Schoeneck hood is '70 only FYI.

I got a Glasstek hood and the fit was perfect lining up wise. But the glass needed a lot of work. The one scoop had a HUGE low spot I had to fill and random quarter size high spots everywhere. The bottom of the hood was almost perfect, I just sanded the sharp edges and left it alone.

Could you fit a victor intake with a spacer and carb under there?
