This is the way I was able to remove mine. First, put the top about half way down so you can access the area just in front of, and below, the stainless trim. You should be able to detect the molding fasteners that hold the trim in place - there are 7 or 8 of them, as I recall. There should be a small phillips head screw that holds each fastener in place - you have to remove that screw for each fastener. Also, be sure to note the position of each fastener so you will get them in the right place when you install the trim. Once the screws are removed, you should have some movement in the trim. In some cases, though, a black, tarry-like sealant was used as well and you will have to work through it to remove the trim. Just go slow and easy and you will eventually be able to work the pieces free.
