Its Back
Its Back
I've been riding around until today and everything was fine, Then I start hearing a tapping noise, This Time its coming from rear of drivers side so I guess this is it, Something has to be done to this engine, and not buy the builder oil pressure wont go over 30 it was going 35 -38 I had a feeling this was going to happen again The funny part is I just but a for sale sign on it today then starting tapping, I'm going to ck the headers on that side and pull the valve cover once the engine cools down, I wish I could do what I use to do but I got to many issues ,Bottom line the car is going fixed or not, Hope everyone had a nice bird day I will update when I fine something out,
Thanks for listen to my bitching

It would appear to me (from your photo) that the lifter is not collapsed and is in the open valve position of the cam lobe.... If you think that rocker arm is in a much higher position then all the other rocker arms when they are in a open valve position, then you have a more serious problem.... How much pressure is on that rocker arm, can it be pushed down by hand, can the push rod rotate????
I would run the engine and see if all the rockers move about the same amount. Look and listen for the one/s that make noise. Also look at the oil flow, all the rockers need to be squirting oil. You pictures shows a valve that is open.
I am going to make a guess and say the rocker could be out of adjustment or you could have a lifter with a weak spring causing some rattle.Being in the open position is normal and that is what i am seeing.Oil pressure at 30 is okay.
Not sure of the lifter brand I sprayed carb cleaner on the headers and intake headers, no rise in idle,I'll fine out this week ,I'm just wondering why am I having so much problem with this engine It wasn't done right .
