buick 455 for sale

Might be an odd place to ask but we bought a '77 442 and it came with a 455 and th400. Guy said it runs and they pulled it out of a truck because it had too much torque (?). He finally delivered it and at first we thought it was a mopar BB. After looking at some pictures it seems to indeed be a 455, just not an olds. I have never seen one of these. wife was going to put it in a '70 cutlass but she will not put anything but an olds engine in so I'm here to ask if you guys have any idea what I should ask for a buick 455 with a 400? If anybody here is interested and you are somewhere near 37129 we would trade it for a running rocket 350 w/o transmission.

You might want to give people more than a couple of hours to respond to your question. I'll offer that a running big block Buick is probably worth $750. If it's a core of unknown condition, more like $200.

Just the answer I was looking for. Thanks. My understanding is they may be rare but I know being rare doesn't make things valuable if there's not a big market for it.

I have a '77 Olds 403 in North Florida -- might be willing to trade for Buick 455, depending on year.

Steve I appreciate that. If we can meet somewhere in TN I'd be game. I just don't really want to deal with shipping.

I don't want to deal with shipping, either. There's a two-letter code on a flat spot on the block, driver's side, just below the head, near the back cylinders, example would be "TR" for 1971 regular 455.

Got anybody coming to Disney?

Well, our house is already just like Disney. At least everyone here lives in a fantasy world. She dresses the dogs up, too. One is goofy and one is kinda mousy. I think the cats have their own reality show.

I'll see if I can find a number but it might be a few days before I can go take a look.
