I have this bracket and I am not sure what it is for. Does anyone Know what it is for and a part number?

68-71 Power steering support bracket. 455 and 350 engines

 

Don't forget the unloved G-block 400, either.

This bracket goes from the bracket in front of the PS pump to the first bolt on the driver's side exhaust manifold. Note that there are two holes on one end. This is the end that goes to the manifold bolt. The lower hole is for an SBO, the upper for a BBO (yes, that's the deck height difference, right there).

GM# 398669. No longer available from GM. Possibly reproduced, (forged?)

 

Mine isn't attached at the manifold end, does it make a difference?
