I need tourqe plates.

I am in the process of getting my 455 rebuilt and I need torque plates. I was wondering if any of yall on here were selling your torque plates or renting yours.

Thankyou

The cylinders distort when you torque the heads on the block. The best possible piston ring seal is obtained by ensuring that the block is equally distorted when the cylinder walls are honed. Obviously you can't hone the cylinders with the heads in place, so instead you use torque plates, which are thick pieces of steel or cast iron that are designed to bolt to the block deck surface in place of the heads and which have holes in them to allow access for the hone.

To the O.P.: where are you located?
