64 olds f-85 engine swap

64 olds f-85 engine swap

will a 455 go into a 64 olds F-85 4dr with a 394 if so what year 455 would be the best to go in it

No F85 was ever built with a 394. The only available F85 V8 in 1964 was a 330. The good news is that a 455 will just about bolt in place of the 330. BE SURE to use the 330 motor mounts and frame mounts, NOT 455 mounts. You'll need the correct big block headers and you'll need to use the 64 water pump and accessory brackets with the 64 radiator or else keep the later water pump and use a 1965 radiator. The 455 flywheel/flexplate has a different crank bolt pattern than the 330.

Now if your 64 F85 REALLY has a 394, that was a completely custom installation and you'll need to put the car back to the stock 330 motor mount configuration to install the 455.
