How much horsepower would you estimate this 455 engine has.

455 Engine:

Std bore ’72 block and heads. Forged “10:1” pistons TRW PN 2323
Chromalloy(sp?) rings
Resized factory rods
Polished crank with .001” under bearings to make up for the polish and correct clearance.
New rod bolts
Oil restrictors above the main bearings as recommended by Joe Mondello.
Windage tray with two mains caps on studs for mounting the tray.
Double roller timing chain with Lunatic Bracket Master II installed at 0deg.
3/8 chromolly push rods.
BBC L88 valve springs…1.88” install height and correct retainers purchased (not Olds pieces)
Full Roller rockers on 7/16” screw in studs.
Ported and polished G casting heads. With resized guides and three angle valve job.
Performer intake
Holley 830 race carburetor with 4 corner idle circuit adjustment, NO choke

 

Cam?

 

It has a Lunati Bracket Master II cam. Adv. Dur. 290/300, Gross lift .496/.520.

 

Most of what you listed has nothing to do with the hp output but I'd say 410-415 or so. That depends on the quality of the port and polish.

 

That carb won't see it's full potential on that engine,but it will work.Was the block deck milled at all,or were the heads milled?

 

I dont think the block deck or heads were milled. So you think a 750 carb would be better for this engine. This is my dads engine he has in his 1987 cutlass supreme.

 

OK,you have about 9:5:1 - 9:75:1 for compression. A 750 carb would be better for that engine.
