Small whistle with RPM

H/O roadworthiness servicing is going well. Seem to have a small whistler, like a little turbocharger, with RPM speed. I wonder if I should bang on my PCV valve, maybe the oil cap is whistling from suction.

Doesn't sound like a belt or bearing, more like airflow. Any great ideas from the knowledge collective?

I've encountered whistling on at least two occasions in my olds. It took some time to find.
Carb, base gasket. Wasn't obvious.
Brake booster, the plastic fitting at entry was cracked. Looked at it more than once to finally find it.

I tend to think its vacum and hose related but it could be something else. I'd start there.

Had one be the vacuum can reservoir leaking at a seam. It is easy enough to disconnect, plug and try.

Good luck!!!

Ok. I'll look around there. Doesn't do it at idle. As long as it is not killing something, I'll put up with it for this weekend if I don't find it.

You can temporarily disconnect the PCV valve hose at the carb and cap the port to see if that's the problem. Same for other vacuum items like power brake, modulator, etc.

I will try. I'll see if it does it in park in place where I can replicate under the hood.
