Just wondering...
Was the U code 455 in the 72 Supreme the same internally as the U code in the 72 442?
Thanks,
Dave

Yes.
The only big 442 player that had a unique 455 was the 72 W30 L77 engine. Yours and other U code cars have the L75

Camshafts were different between automatic 455's, 4-speed 455's and W-30 cars but yes otherwise the internals are the same.

Of course, a U code 442 IS an automatic, so yes, even the cam is the same as the one in the Cutlass. The V code cars are manual trans.
