Doing an EFI BB but did the break in with a carb. Engine specs are;

Custom Lunati 239/244@.050, .580/.576 Hyd roller 112lsa in at 109.
Racetec piston, 1.5, 1.5, 3.00 ring pack
FM 108M mains
Clevite rods
Durabond O6-B cam brgs
Eagle H beams
N crank
My Procomp heads, 2.125/1.68

It'll be cool to see the difference once the EFI is installed. Should be interesting.......

650 ft/lbs, is this a generous dyno? (no disrespect intended)

Multiport EFI? Holley Dominator?

Hey nick,
You always throw out the first and last numbers. They're never accurate.
Don't know if you can see it from the video but yes, multiport.
Even though I'm a Holley dealer as well, I prefer the AEM Infinity. That's what this is getting.

Got to get the rest of the car ready for this build.

Mark with a few changes can you get a 425 close to those numbers? We know the 425 has less CI but can rev with a shorter stroke. Can that compensate with the right "stuff".

With all due respect, there are a few here that keep throwing the "shorter stroke, rev higher" scenario out there for a 425 vs a 455. Simply not true. A 425 won't automatically rev any higher than anything else if it can't breathe, no matter how much shorter the stroke is.
But if you up the compression, and had better heads you could possibly make up for most of the lost cubic inches. Otherwise apples to apples then no.

No worries Mark, thanks for the clarification. I have most of the parts to build a 425 and once I get the 64 F-85 in the street with the 400E in it. Then I will get a little more serious on whether the move forward. With the possible option of retiring in 2.5 years don't know if I want to spend the $$$ if the 400E is running good. Merry Christmas!

Did you ever measure this with the EFI afterwards?

Got your email as well.
I did do the same engine on EFI. But the dyno had issues and the pull was compromised. The pull rate accelerated at the end of the pull thereby skewing the numbers.
Fwiw, it showed 522 on the EFI, 541 on the carb measured.

Dam!!!! Now that's what I need. Nothing like some old fashion whiplash.
What's the cost of the build?

Let’s just say it’s into 5 digits.

That's some serious horsepower and torque. I'm guessing the first digit isn't a 9 ?
