Yes, it's a 425
In response to my first post asking if it is, from what I can tell, now that it's finally gotten here, is that yes it is a 425. I now have a ton of new questions but let's start with the facts as I see them now:
C heads
Torker intake
Super Rocket Ultra High Compression air cleaner
It's red
So, this says to me it's a 425 from a '67 something-or-other. Is that right so far? No, I've been sick and haven't looked for any marking on the block. It's cold and so am I.
Other stuff:
Headers - old and hang too low on pass side
New exhaust with what appear to be aluminzied glass packs
Still has points - we put pertronix in everything
Torker maifold
Edelbrok 1411 (750 'lectric choke)
Cragar S/S with (very old) Tiger Paws (a question answered that yes 15/255s look very good on this car)
Excellent frame
Excellent floor pans
Pretty good carpet
It's a no-air car
My wife keeps mubling something-something badass so she's pretty happy. It does have some bondo but the only body work that really needs attention is the RR quarter panel. Been there before.
Tires, shocks, tune up, belts, hoses, fluids and filters, brake and electric check, scrub down and seat covers and it will be driven a good while with the "patina".
Now I start my silly questions:
Is the flywheel supposed to be exposed?
Is it supposed to have an overflow tank? If not I could carry a pretty good sized ice chest or craftsman toolbox on the shelf by the radiatior.
What's up with these headers? A buddy bought a '67 Malibu and has the same header problem, being they are about 3 inches off the ground. What's so odd is that it's just one side. The other side would be ok unless you hit a crater sized pothole.
Ok, lets start here. And thanks in advance.

If you will post the numbers from
the timing cover shelf, right below the
thermostat housing, someone can verify
the engine size.
No, the flywheel should not be exposed.
There should be a dust cover that fits over
the front part of the transmission and is held
on by 4, 1/4" bolts.
If you have an overheating prob, we used to
use clorox bottles for overflow jugs.
Not sure about the headers, never liked 'em,
never used 'em.
What model of Olds is this anyway?

Somehow as Ilived through the night I did realize it's not fatal but thanks for the confirmation.
Next question, where's the dipstick? And please don't say "sitting at the keyboard". I already know about that goofball.

Here's what a nice '67 425 should look like. This is in a '67 Delta 88 Custom. Note that the dipstick is below and to the right of the black breather cap on the left side valve cover.

Great picture.
Ok, so after some thought, since this was a 330 car (right?) I'm guessing it stll has SB springs. And if one has settled that could be why one side is lower. Our driveway has a slant so I'll need a slanted view to see if the R front is really sagging that much. Maybe. Maybe the header was bent on install.

Heres mine. 425 in a 66 Ninety Eight LS.
You can just make out the dipstick under the power steering hoses.

And that dawned on me after I posted it. I looked earlier and it may indeed be sitting a little lower on that side. We need to replace those anyway. And from pushing, as you know I'm no expert, either the springs are shot or they are sb springs so we need to take care of that. Pulled carpet in the trunk, ta-da, air shocks. They are holding just fine so far.
And no, there is no dipstick. He must have plugged it expecting to put one in pretty quick and then passed away. It doesn't sling oil. We need to get one in so we can keep an eye on it when we change it this weekend. I'm sure the hearders had something to do with it but that's just weird. No way to check it.
Anybody else use the pertronix system? We've used that in a few and I for one love it.
And the numbers I got, 389244D, along with the C heads tell me it's a '67 425, right?
