Are you getting good spark from the coil? And to the plugs? If I had to guess, first guess would be a bad coil.

Did it run longer before you did the tune up. If not, have you changed the fuel filter. Even if its getting fuel the fuel pump could be going bad.

Are you running points or HEI. If you have points check them out. If HEI check the control module. If they are good then I would be looking at the fuel pump.

Could have a hole in the fuel line causing it to suck air instead of fuel.

The other thing would be a bad ground.

I would check the fuel pump, fuel filter, and also the gas cap. The gas cap may need to be vented. You may also have a problem with needle and seat on carb. Ignition problems are usually all go or no go, not sometimes.

Possibility of gas contamination???

ok i replaced the coil points and condenser. the coil is getting power. its getting fuel. fuel is good. it is NOT getting spark. i dont know why i also have gotten it down to the distributor, so something is wrong there but i dont know what. this is really starting to frustrate me
i did take the number one plug out turn it over to when it would fire held it against the block with power to the coil and nothing, but if i held it to the block first and then out power to the coil it would spark
this is out of the car btw

You did hook the points wire to the negative side of the coil, correct?
