Windage tray

I got this windage tray and studs a couple years ago in a load of parts. It was bought from Mondello in the early 90s. I have no idea what brand the studs are. there is not any ARP marking on them. There are only 4 studs for mounting the tray. Should i just get a set of ARP main bolts and forget about using this stuff? I had not planed to use it but wonder what you guys think? If i should use it, should i use bolts or studs for the other mains? also, will it fit a stock pan with no mods?

Thanks for putting up with all the engine questions lately.

I have the same tray, I bought it about the same time. Its been in the engine since I bought it so its held up well. I'm using ARP main studs, I seem to recall having to drill the holes just a tad larger. Once the main stud nuts are installed and torqued for the final time you will probably need some washers to use as shims to get the tray to clear the crank counterweights. Maybe if you use the studs that came with the tray no modifications will be needed.

I have used Mondello's but liked the Milodon better. Had some of the welds broke the last 3 times the block has been tore down. If there are any welds broke Sat when we drop the pan, it will go in the trash.

I am thinking more like sell it and not have it. Is it that big of deal on a nice street engine? Only reason i am considering it is because i already have it.

Oldsmobile used windage trays in a lot of their engines. I figure if they felt it was needed thats a good enough reason for me.
