What's needed to switch to hydraulic roller cam

I have a 461 with big valve c heads right now I'm running comp cams extreme energy 284 flat tappet cam but alot of people are telling me to switch to a hydraulic roller cam setup.so didnt know what was all involved is switching to roller.

Cam, lifters, pushrods, springs, thrust bearing at a minimum.

Possibly the distributor gear as well.

Rocker arms if you are using stock ones, and guide plates for the pushrods.

And at least $1,000.

I'm using the comp cams full roller rockers with the extreme energy 284 cam as a whole kit pretty big springs,my cam is 541/542 lift so I'm thinking around same or maybe just a touch bigger.

It’s not the size of the spring, it’s the pressure. A roller requires about 150 on the seat and 375-390 open. Normally that’s too much for a flat tappet.
And I wish people weren’t so enammered by lift. That’s only part of the equation, especially with stock heads.
