What are th elimits of the stock valve train?

Can I safely run a cam with .475 lift and springs with 90# closed and #280 open thru the stock rockers, stands and pushrods?

Not a high rpm moter, just a street criuser.

Thanks, Joel

Yes you can. Check the tech section on camshafts and on valvetrain geometry for more info.

For sure, before all this aftermarket stuff came out I built a 425 that would rev to 6500 without a miss. Cam was 590 lift stock valve train with adjustable pushrods. That was in 1977 and the engine is still runnable and intact.
