What price for non running 70' 455

With E heads. Here are some pics. Looks rough, but its been stored in garage for 10+ years. No idea what it was taken out of. Son of deceased father selling. Thinking about getting it. Comes with orig manifold, and other orig motor stuff. Seeing it Sunday. Some pics:

are the heads pulled?

I see them on there but will you be able to see the bores and such? Manifold steel or aluminum?

I dunno if you cant see inside the motor, pan etc and the manifold is steel id say a few hundred, see inside the motor bores etc everything looks good maybe a few hundred more

There is no return policy, so you need to price accordingly in my opinion...

Hey Ed, no idea yet on manifold. Im assuming boat anchor. Heads are bolted up, im sure I can take pan off though. Im going to pour concoction down plug holes, sit and then try and turn crank. Lot of freebies are coming with it as he wants all car stuff out of garage.

Im not an engine guru at all, and just want to make sure to cover all basis.

The last core 455 I picked up was $150. It had good big valve "C" casting heads. I have purchased 2 other core engines for $250 each. One had a Torker intake, the other had Harlan sharp roller rockers.

For another comparison point: earlier this year I bought a running 455 originally from a '68 Toronado, more recently out of a Ford truck, Fan to Flex and Carb to Pan for $500.

X2. This is the price range I've seen also. Any 455 core that I can find locally for $150 or so, I'll grab it. I've gone up to $250 for a long block.

See if he'll take the price of you hauling all that stuff out of his garage. In other words Zippo.

well it looks to be an "Fa" block '73 to '76 engine. I bet it has "J" heads. So no big deal, just a good $150 core. low comp pistons, no big deal on the heads.
so for the most part, a good block, crank, and rods. If your going to do anything with the engine, that is about all your going to keep, of course the oil pan and front cover.

I thought I already said/ showed its a 70' 455 F block with E heads...?

Sorry Johnny about your horrible experience. Go read about a guy named Bob Coy on the web. Every thing you described and worse re Pastor, or fake pastor more like it ...preaching one thing and doing the exact opposite in the shadows. He is local, and I went to his church for 3 years long ago. But I never felt right about him. He made national news because he runs a mega church.

Well, this thread has gotten interesting.

I went and viewed engine in person this weekend. Its a F block 455 with E heads. Motor turns over by hand no problem. Push rods straight, turn smoothly. valve covers and oil pan is undented /real straight. All looks good. Originally came with Performer intake, but dad used it on his car , so now has original year range boat anchor intake. Hes throwing in foldable 1500lb engine stand , orig dizzy, carb , engine rebuild gasket set, edel air cleaner, and more. Just got to arrange hoist and truck pickup.

Well, I guess I miss that part about the year and heads. The pic does show the letter "F", I thought it had an "a" just to the right with some dirt or something, which made me think of the letter some how.
Any way, thats great it is better than you thought. All should turn out well.

No problem Gene. As far as engine goes, should have it by this weekend. Then we'll start to see if its a good engine or not. Hopefully if things go south with the block, I can make back my money in the parts.

Block # is 30D104326.

Also verified it has a AT crank, and its a Nodular crank after removing oil pan.
Next, the heads come off.
