Water outlet question 68 442.

I put the 329099 with large 2 on the motor to learn that the correct one assuming a 400 w30 is considered a 658 motor per the assembly manual engine section. This would be correct if I did have A/C but I do not. The correct one should be a 386129 number. I bought a inline tube one should these also have a large 2 on them also?
Also the rear heater hose valve should be a non restricted fitting with flats on it to tighten not slotted straight?

My experience has been an unrestricted heater inlet results in a blown out heater core.

I once blew out a new heater core with a single 5000 RPM pull when I inadvertently had no restrictor in the inlet. The restriction is designed to limit the volume of water through the core to prevent blowing it out.

EDIT: I originally thought Y72 was HD cooling, but that wouldn't apply to W30 based on this post from this site:

For reference the option codes
C60 = A/C,
Y72 = Heavy Duty Cooling and 55amp Decatron generator.

Factory Cooling Options:
Code VO1 was the Heavy Duty Radiator Code EC part number 3017107, 4 core – not available with the Y72 or C60 options, mandatory and available only with 3.91 axle, except it is mandatory with the 442 W30.

Code VO2 was the Heavy Duty Radiator Code FE part number 3014745, 3 core – not available with the Y72 or C60 options, mandatory and available only with 3.42 axle.

Code Y72 was the Heavy Duty Radiator Code ED part number 3017108, 4 core – not available with the VO1, VO2 options, not available with W30 or W31, not available with 3.91 or 3.42 axles. Mandatory with W33 (police use). Available with or without C60.

So if you wanted heavy duty cooling and you were not a 3.91, 3.42, or W30 you had to go with the Y72 option, which included a heavy duty radiator and heavy duty generator. It was available with or without C60 (AC).

That makes more sense as I’ve been searching for the VO2 code and never really found it. My car has 3.42 rear so I would fall under that code I guess. Problem is now I upgraded to a 4 core but still have my 3 care radiator. I guess the 3 core was original then. But if I were going the w30 rout yes I would follow under the VO1 4 core now that I read what you wrote more.
