Trying to identify an engine block

I have an engine block with what appears to have casting number of "412285". I think it is an Oldsmobile engine, but not positive. When I Google the casting number it takes me to several options for Oldsmobile, but nothing that can tell me the if it is Olds and what the engine size and possible year that belongs to it. This engine block was my late husband's, and we had an Olds 442. Can someone direct to me a reliable website for verifying what this engine is and it's value. Needing to sell.......................
Thank you in advance!

Where exactly are you finding this number? 1964-90 Oldsmobile engines have the casting number located above the water pump. The number you posted is not an Oldsmobile block casting, but it could be something else, depending on where you found it.

I'll add that 412287 is a casting number for an Oldsmobile exhaust manifold from the mid-1970s, so your 412285 number is potentially a viable Olds casting number, just not for a an engine block. Similarly 412753 is a mid-70s Olds intake manifold casting number.

The picture provided is the water pump, the casting number on it is an Oldsmobile water pump number but it doesn't identify the engine. The # pointed toward in post #3 is necessary to identify the engine/block to any degree.

That's a water pump casting number. Refer to post #3 for the location of the block casting ID.

The # were looking for is at the foot of the oil fill tube, a vertical tube about 1 1/2" in diameter. The #'s are also about twice as big as the #'s on the pump.
