todays problem
I took the car for a little run this morning and something didnt feel right with the throttle...got home and the bracket that holds the cable had moved...went to tighten it and it was a no go
So can I just re- drill and tap this with out removing the intake and just use a small tube connected to a shop vac to remove the metal shavings...its a through hole to the intake....oh its a performer intake

So that hole is stripped?
You should be able to remove the carb and reach in there and feel the bottom of the hole.
Then just HeliCoil it. If you drill and tap it the next larger size, it'll be a pretty big bolt.
Grease up the hole and drill very slowly (using a T-handle by hand might work) to reduce shavings, and stop often to wipe out the shavings in the grease and add more grease.
Keep your hand under the other side with a bit of rag to catch anything that falls.
Then do the same with the tap.
When it's all done, it'll be stronger than new.
Also, though you want to keep metal shavings out of your engine, I doubt that a stray aluminum shaving or two would hurt anything, in case you missed any.

Apply a little sealant or small amount of teflon tape to the bolt? Make sure you use a long enough bolt to reach the bottom of the hole with the bracket in place. You want as much fastener to intake contact as possible in that spot. Im surprised that is a through hole. Wonder what else is a through hole that shouldn't be and needs to be sealed? Be careful with torque on a lubed bolt going into aluminum. Lessen the torque at least 10% of spec.
