Throttle Linkage Cutty "65

Many of u alredy know that im going with a 455-th350 swap in my Cutlass ("65) that previously had a 350-st300 combo
The question is what kind of Throttle Linkage or even cable? can i use? i looked around at jegs-summit but is a jungle a lot to choose but i dont have any idea what would fit and what not,i would really appreciate it if someone had some tips or even better a link to the stuff i would need
the 455 im putting in has a 830 quick fuel(mech.sec.) and a performer with a 1/2" spacer ,i include a few pics to show u guys how it looks like now!the tranny switch at the pics has some serious side movement (axel) and i dont think i want to use it anymore.
Thanks in advance Panos

Try a Lokar cable setup...pedal, cable and linkage. They only list it for chev but the setup is the same for all A bodies in 65-67. I want to get one eventually...

Well, you certainly don't need the switch with a TH350. If you want to retain the stock accelerator pedal, you can do what I did on my 62 and buy linkage parts from McMaster Carr to fabricate a new throttle rod. The TH350 kickdown cable needs to be adapted to the carb. The easiest way is to find the cable and carb bracket from a late 70s Olds and use those.

The cable will work, but obviously you'll need to mount the new pedal in place of your old one. The other option is to build a linkage like I did:

If you're getting rid of that mechanical linkage assembly I'd be interested in it!

I was gonna say, if that switch tests good, don't toss it!! Someone is always needing one and they fit all 65-67 except Toronado.

The switches are "popular" because replacements are not available. Good used ones are always in demand.

Have someone go to the wrecking yard here in the states, and get a cable and bracket, and pedal from a 307 buick Electra 4 door, or wagon. Pay em $20 to do it. Easy pull, easy install. Easy find, drill 3 small holes, 1 big one. Use the downshift cable for a Firebird (Vatojones carries new ones here) if yours is equipped with a Turbo 350 transmission. Throw the old junk on e-bay and let someone else fight with it for a change. That's what I did.
Just my opinion.
Jim
