I just purchased a speedmaster “single plane with divider” big block olds intake. Is it me or is this a dual plane intake? One side feeding 2 cylinders on each bank. Im ok with it because it I actually wanted a dual plane and looking at the pictures it sure looked like a dual plane.
the casting isn’t great by a ones standards and I haven’t tried mounting it yet. One port has a bolt boss sticking into it that will have to be ground out, with the price of Edlebrock’s today it was worth a shot at $226 on Black Friday.
I've heard people complaining of a lot of core shifts on these manifolds. Have to modify them straight out of the box. To me, I'd rather pay for quality.
And if you think aluminum products are expensive now...just wait.
The Edlebrock performer rpm for a bbo is $700 now. I understand supply chain issues or whatever excuse they’re using but I just can’t justify it. If it needs some work I’ve got time and a good die grinder but if the angle is off on the heads then I’m sol. You’re right though aluminum is about to be through the roof making the edlebrock closer to $900. I’ve got about an 80% success rate with Chinese stuff lately it’s getting better but still chance. Luckily speedmaster is based in California so returns aren’t impossible.
