Smoking after camshaft replacement.

First i would like to say hello to all. This is my first time posting a thread so bear with me. I have a 1972 cutlass, 750 edel. carb,455 C-heads,4spd,limited-slip diff, stock gears. Before the cam swap the engine ran fine. Now it lightly smokes constantly. Is the any simular situations out there. The smell tends to burn your eyes if you hang around.

Smokes out the exhaust or at the engine? If out the exhaust, I'd guess that the intake gasket is leaking underneath, allowing oil from the lifter valley to be sucked into the intake. If the smoke is from around the engine, then the valve covers are likely leaking.
