Replacement Carburetor

What model year are you interested in? Your photo looks like a '70. I have a '69 (400G) with a Performer intake and aftermarket OAI set up that replicates the original hardware. I'm running a 750 Street Demon with phenolic fuel bowl. Everything fits well under the stock hood and I've been extremely happy with the carb. I never had a problem with the original Q-jet but wanted to do something a little different after the engine mods.

If you're going to get an aftermarket carburetor get the Edelbrock Thunder AVS.

You'll need a spacer to make it fit the OE spread bore intake. I've found that Edelbrock carbs are more streetable than Holleys. Of course, nothing beats properly rebuilding your Quadrajet.

Yes it is a 70 455 with aluminum heads and stock Olds aluminum manifold.
The QJet on there now bubba has worked on it and I would like to replace it.
I was reading about the Holley Sniper FI system, anyone have experience with it?
Thanks for all the responses.

We started to go with that unit, but we decided to just stick with the Holley style. I will say, if you're running an aluminum intake with the EGR plate, then you'll need to run a spacer. We had to run an adapter anyway since we were going from qaudrajet to Holley (spread to square).
