Removing/installing exhaust manifold on a 425

I want to replace my driver's side manifold on my 66 Delta 88 with a Thornto dual repro I have. Should I lift the motor or can I do it with the engine still in the bay?
Thanks!

It might be easier to just pull the steering shaft.

You should not have to lift engine. If engine mounts are compressed it makes it tougher. Yes remove starter. Hardest part will be removing bolts as over time the heads have become slightly smaller due to rust. Make sure you use a 6 point socket and you may have to go from a 9/16 to a 14MM for a better fit. The factory tin keepers if still there on the bolt heads are fun too. You can unbend the tabs from below with a long screwdriver and hammer. Hopefully you wont run inta a problem that happened to me once. The center bolt was crossthreaded. I tried everything I could and ended up twisting the head off of the bolt. I then tried getting the broken piece out of the head and that broke too. Had to pull the head and retap threads.
