radiator

Guys:
Looking for info and input about a radiator for the 66 Cutlass I am doing. It was updated back in the 80's to accept a 4 core radiator, has anyone used the newer plastic / aluminum combo radiators they make now. The replacements are 3 row, but they tell me they are as efficient as the 4 core. I have found only 1 source for a brass tank oem replacement, I believe it was US Something, does anyone has any other sources for oem style replacement,
Thanks, Ron

The other alternative is to get yours recored. I have an aluminum with plastic tanks as some others on the site. It works well, however when the outside air temps here in Texas get well over 100 it will let the engine temps creep slowly in traffic or extended idling.

Be Cool and Fluidyne make good ones! There are tons of others as well! Also look at Spal electric cooling fans. Spal is made in America and is an OEM supplier. They make all their own stuff!

DeWitt's makes some very nice ones, but they aren't cheap.

Guys:
I talked to the guys at Specture Radiators, the tech told me they had bought out some NOS from a couple radiator wholesalers that closed, I ordered one from Autozone and they checked their inventory and shipped me an old style brass and copper construction one for $200.00 for the HD / desert cooling package with 4 rows and the big tanks, no shipping or anything, it came from one of the local warehouses. I will try the install this weekend, all the measurements seem to be the same so far. I was ready to pop for one of the US Radiators that were close to $500.00 plus shipping. It took a few hours find this source, but that well worth the savings.
Thanks, Ron

Peter:
The radiator fit fine, everything lined up. I thought I had a small problem, but after talking to "Lemoldsnut" here on the site, It all went together. I don't want to start anything on this site, but I contacted one of the Largest US Manufacturers and was talked to like I was an Idiot, not a good way to deal with a customer who was ready to buy your product.
Thanks, Ron
