Push rod length

Help

I building a 455 for my 1972 Cutlass I have Edelbrock big block heads (PN 60519) with a Edelbrok Performer 2151 intake. The cam is a *****' Thumpr 287TH7 High Performance. The lifters are COMP Cams High Energy Hydraulic Lifters 852-16. Can someone help me find the correct push rod length? The lifters are COMP Cams High Energy Hydraulic Lifters 852-16.

So what I recommend is calling the tech line at summit racing. They are very helpful. I called them with question about our 65 425 and they were able to help. Just me 2 cents.

You need to buy a measuring pushrod from one of the usual suppliers (or make one, if you're so inclined) and measure the proper pushrod distance, then order the correct length pushrods.

On my procomp heads (edelbrock copies) with stock deck height and single steel shim head gaskets I used comp cams 7183-16 pushrods which are 9.800" length per edelbrocks head installation recommendations. They were a perfect fit.
