Powermaster 9610 or factory starter ?

I recently purchased a parts car with a ton of parts- came with a nearly new 9610 mini starter.
Am I better off using the factory starter or should I give this thing a try? My motor is pretty much bone stock, non header, automatic.
Not sure if the 9610 might throw some installation head aches at me. My factory starter is almost new so the only advantage I'm seeing is weight…not a big deal to me.

Thanks for any suggestions/ideas.

I put the same starter on my 76 cutlass supreme . Mainly stock with a few bolt-ons. I needed a new starter and decided to spend a little more to drop a few pounds. If you don't mind a louder cranking starter than I would install it and get the weight savings from your stock starter. No installation headaches at all.
I hope this helps
Cheers
Eric

Or you might just put it on the shelf as a spare till you need it.

X2 on keeping as a spare. Someday you may want headers. Plus it's easier to lift into place while laying on your back if you ever need to swap.

I put that same mini stater on the car I'm building and I am very happy with it. It's way lighter than the stock starter so installing it is easier. I've dropped a stock starter on my face once and that was no fun. The power master will take a little wiring change but not to hard.

The only thing I don't like about the powermaster 9610 that I installed in my 76 is the louder cranking. I do like the weight savings.
