Exclamation Overhaulin a 400 engine for my 66 442

Hello, I own a 1966 442 with the 400 engine. I build my engine Twice and had bad Luck, the 2 times ruined my engine.

First time I loose all oil presure, and now seems like number 3 rod enlarged and I found the rod bearing mounted one above the other, so my crankshaft and rods are damaged and I need to replace them.

now I need to buy a compleete overhaul kit, pistons, rods, rings, crank, etc.

I had purcahsed my parts at Mondello (no longer gives my confidence) and in Olds Performance Products (has treated me well)

My question is were do you recomend my to Buy my new kit to rebuild my engine at reasonable price and good quality??? I want to rebuild a street/strip car

thanks for the help

Just a tip, the Olds 425 has same rods and crank as the 66 400 E block so maybe you can get these parts easier.

Are you looking for just a crank kit or all the pieces in "kit" form? Sounds like you'll need some machine work done as well.

I ordered a Nodular crank from Ebay (Rocket scientist) and pistons from Egge Machine connecting rods from Eagle and the rest will be Crane, so far so good with all.
Egge has rebuild kits.

You'll obviously need to purchase mostly used parts. But my point is it sounds as if the machine work may be as much of the issue. Make sure you have everything checked by a reputable shop otherwise you'll be right back where you started from.
