I am thinking of purchasing a set of Edelbrock Performer Heads re-worked by Mondello's @ $1,599 for my 455. Has anyone had any experience with these heads or opinions for or against?

I don't think they re-work anything for that price. they do have a good price from what I've seen.
Sorry no experience but lots have them. Hope they will chime in.

I agree that is the basic Edelbrock head. Check e-bay, craigs list and other Olds sites if you are not in a hurry used ones pop up from time to time. My last set for the 48 Old cost me $1,100.00 ported and complete with roller rockers and in perfect condition shipped to my door. I have seen sets go for as low as $800.00 a set. Also check racingjunk.com

 

That's the basic price...sorry to say. I have them with a Street/Strip port...made 492HP/544TQ on the dyno. Wishing I had done the all out competition port...$$$ If you look in the Big Block thread list you'll see the dyno results post, or you can check out the link in my signature.
