olds engine blue

I have a question about whether I'm using "the right color" on my engine.

As mentioned I'm trying to use up all the stuff that I've got laying around as I cosmetically restore my 455.

One of those things is cans of NAPA (Martin Seynor) "Olds Engine Blue" as shown here:

I have already painted my new BB valve covers with one whole can:

The newly painted covers are in the foreground. The 455 is in the background. The VCs on the engine (original factory paint) came from a 1976 Cutlass...unsure about whether this darker 1976 blue is worth paying attention to in a conversation about Big Block paint colors.

The wire looms are from the 1977 Pace Car that is destined to receive the 455. They are a different color than the 1976 Cutlass VCs...closer to the NAPA paint color for sure.

What do you think about the finished color of the NAPA paint on my 455? I've got two full cans left over with which to re-paint the block.

OR - is this paint not so hot vis-a-vis "too close to Pontiac blue"? I can't tell.

Is there a PANTONE specification for Olds Engine Blue?

Thanks

The blue on valve covers looks good, a little lite but darkens with heat a bit.

The paint color you are showing appears to be the Oldsmobile blue used for the 350 diesel engine...

I can't see any photos of the Supercars paint color via their website (says "Click here for Photo" - but not so much).

From your photo, the valve cover looks a too light and doesn't have the aqua hue to it. The cap for their can looks like the correct shade though. This is Fusick's blue on a '72 W-30:
