from oiling to overheating

See if this makes sence, first pic, thermostat housing with 180 deg therm in it, sec pic, upper hose going in brand new alum radiator and twin fans, third, other side of radiator, (cooled side) 4th lower radiator hose or supply hose, what it is? .030 over 455, 10.5 to 1 comp, 280h comp cam hyd, timeing set 15 deg static, not lean,,,,burns my little eye's. why is lower hose still hot? temp gauge in car wants to stay 200 to 212. what I have done....restricted the thermostat housing bypass to water pump by half, the edelbrock manifold has 2 coolant passageways in rear, I vent both or have them Y ed, to heater core, from heater core goes in to cooled side radiator, that hose runs bout 200 deg,s mixing into cooled side radiator, HELP, lol

is your t-stat starting to open at 180? i mean, is it a good t-stat? how many rows on the rad? 2? 3? 4? what cfm are the fans? timing is 15 degrees at what rpm? i don't see any reason to restrict the bypass.

Engine is fresh, new 180 deg thermostat, the radiator and fan combo comes from American Eagle Radiator Company and is rated at 500 Hp. it has 2 rows and are 1" wide each row, Fan cfm? don't know, have to look it up, How much CFM do I need? lol. has too much compression to set an overall advance timing, wont start, why block bypass? so all the hot water gets out of the motor and cooled. does this at idle, not driven the car, it takes a 20 to 30 min's to do it, just creeps up.

OK,Ok,,,,Believe I have found it or the problem, Had been reading online things about the e-bay radiators and come find out, there are a lot of different company's making radiators or importing them, was reading of people complaining of shipping damage to just plain junk, My cust bought this one and it was warped out the box but there was no damage to the box, kinda make ya think, huh. I have a Summit Racing brand in my Camaro that are a real good cost, and compairing the two together, I would say the summit would be 30 to 40 percent better radiator. his radiator is going to live but the twin fan and fancy carbon fiber shroud are just plain junk, I put a pull fan on that came off of a BMW 325 and dropped temps down to 185 to 190 and it actually cycles now. but be Leary of all the radiator places guy's. here's couple pics of summit rad in my Camaro, just a tuffer an stronger radiator.

As we used to say back in the old days of the computer, "Garbage in, garbage out."

Glad you got it fixed.

Might be a good idea one day to make a thread listing experiences with different aftermarket radiators - I, for one, would shy away from them at this point, as I have no idea which ones are good and which ones are crap.

Whats wrong with GM 4 core harrison radiators? I had mine rebuilt and it's been running cool for 2 years now. No problems.

Only modification was i added a HD waterpump with a longer snout to bring the fan closer to the rad. No shroud, no problem.

And nothing is wrong with the old school, I had pushed a few for years, but upgrading from 350 to a 10.5 to 1 cam'ed up 455, think its required, and you know the deal, trying to save little money so I can get paid, lol
