Oil control issue

I have a 455 and at the end of a quarter mile pass the oil psi fluctuates from around 60 psi to about 35-40 psi rapidly , then returns to a steady 60 psi. The engine has a 7 qt. Milodon oil pan with windage tray. I run 7 qts. with filter, no oil restrictors and have the grooved back cam bearings. The oil pump is a Melling HV with purple pressure spring. Not sure if it is a windage issue or am I sucking the pan dry.. How would i know? Anyone ever had this issue?

Are you on the throttle or on the release/coast down when fluctuation occurs?

That’s one reason why I don’t use that pan anymore. I switched to the Canton which has multiple trap doors in it. Nice piece.

If the pressure returns fast meaning it comes back up when make the turn then I would say windage. If it takes awhile to come up like half down the return road then I would say all the oil is up top due to ne restrictors.

It come back to normal rather quick, a few seconds after I let off the throttle.
