Need to send my two 455 blocks in and have them checked out, may build two. One using my original set up with new cam and heads I got and put another together using the Probe pistons, Eagle rods and a Hyd roller cam for future use. May just put the Olds off until I can get the roller cam and different fuel/intake setup instead of the Tunnel Ram. Only time will tell, guess you can say this was poorly planned.
Let me know if I can help with the cam, or anything else for that matter. Best of luck in your projects!!!

Going to put the short block I was using before back together. I had the valve guide issue and flat cam lobe. I had taken my "E" iron heads in to get guides installed but both heads had cracks on the two inboard exhaust seats hence the new Edelbrocks. I have a replacement cam (Lunati 60805) to use along with the new heads. Pistons are Speed Pro's with 18cc dish. I'm going to get a Torker and run one of my 650's which might be small but I just want to get the car back on the road while waiting to do the other.
Also need to get the LT1 together and install in Corvette so I can put the engine compartment back together.
The other engine, if the block is good, will be bored for the Probe's and I'll use the Eagle rods and may get an Eagle crank. I'll get a roller cam (Lunati), put the Tunnel ram on and the Edelbrock heads. I'll work the heads a little and set them up for the new cam. Time to get started.
Funny, my wife has allowed me to spend the dough and if I don't make noise soon, need to have one car running, I'll be in trouble.
Sounds like you have a few irons in the fire Dan. Lol!

Wow, that's some motor, congrats. Looks wicked!
If you'd be so kind....maybe a short video clip of that sucker running once she's fired-up? It would be audio ****.

Wow congrats looking at some serious builds!
Here a pic of my LT1 in the 96 Impala, sure loved that car.
Hope to get some pics when I redo the 455 in a couple of years.
I like that flat aluminium look, is that stock or did you repaint the heads/covers/intake on the 455?

How did you do on the intake install?
also did you have to do the install with the engine in the car?

I had deleted all my posts because I thought I had another rebuild gone bad but it turns out everything is working fine. Anyway I took the car out today in 48 degree weather, I have no heat and I had the windows down. It was fun.

What did you think went so wrong that you deleted all posts?

I thought that something in the bottom end had gave out, it made a "Chirping" sound. Read it could be bearings so I just got frustrated that another build wouldn't last. Turned out to be the "turkey" tray I put in to keep oil off the intake. I cut the intake sides off too much and it was rubbing on the push rods. Took it out and all is fine. I may put another in later on but not anytime soon.

Thanks Drew. I was reluctant to post the one driving because it's pretty lame but earlier that day when I brought it to work a muffler decided to disconnect itself from the rest of the exhaust and was happy to get dragged along just hanging on the hanger. Anyway I had to tie it with some rope and used duct tape to get it back home. Still had it on so didn't want to blow it again.

Hope your car is treating you okay.

Funny story, I bought a new one in 92. Aqua with black interior, it was stunning and awesome. My wife and I had been married for 12 years and due to her unfortunate female plumbing issues we weren't supposed to be able to have children. Well, about a month after I bought it she throws this little stick on the dining room table and starts tapping her finger on it saying..."do you know what this is"? I said no... She says "it says I'm pregnant". I say go into town and buy 3 more. Well as luck would have it she was and I traded the car off. They aren't a practical family car.

I told her Gynecologist I was going to sue him for malpractice and the cost of a Vette because he said it was impossible for her to get pregnant.

I know the feeling. I bought a new one in 88' when I was stationed in Hawaii. Midnight Blue with light blue interior. I was 28 at the time, an E-6, single, in Hawaii. I bought a lot of accessories for the car and three months later I had to deploy to Adak, Alaska. During that 6 month deployment I met my present wife and when I got back to Hawaii I had to trade in that new corvette with all the accessories and only 3500 miles on it. I had the car for 9 months and 6 of them I was gone. I ended up with a Pontiac Grand Am and in a sense, a new wife.
