Need help with cam specs

I need to figure out the cam specs for the cam that I removed from my 455 but doesn't seem like the markings and the catalog of manufacturer match

http://camshaftmachine.com/wp-conten...2015-01-30.pdf

Any ideas or leads would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

My guess would be the second one because the first one is under .400 net lift at the valve and unless this was just a cruiser with a kitten purring idle, I can't see that one being used.

The third and fourth ones would be more on the exotic side and you'd have more of an idea if it was one of them.

thx!

Im thinking of calling the manufacturer, hopefully they wont give me some BS that its outdated or something else.

It does seem beefier vs stock but im no expert and who knows if the catalog has new items and this particular cam is discontinued?

At the end of day I need to figure out what stall convertor to go with, the rear diff is 3.42.

Even if it were outdated, cam companies keep records of the camshafts that they manufacturer and it shouldn't be anything for them to pull up the specs, unless it's some sort of custom grind. And even then they might have records of it.

I called CMC and they stated its not theirs and most likely CWC but they only provide cores.. I checked the websites of comp cams, edelbrock, erson, lunatic and the 3 digit code does not jive with any... I may end up taking it to a local shop for them to measure it to let me know what it is and how it will perform with my set up. I have 30 over block, stock heads and Pistons, stock lifters, stock intake , 3.42 rear I may end up getting a new cam just don't which one would be good selection for the street. Not looking to race anyone but I'd want to have some power to smokes tires and enjoy some throaty engine sound while I cruise top down.

What heads and pistons are you using? That will dictate much of what you can run for a cam. The car weight is around 3800 lbs and you are using 3.42 gears and what stall? How tall are your tires?

All of this information plays a roll in selecting the correct cam for your application.

That is a low compression piston and will limit what you can use for a camshaft. If you want to make any kind of power you're gonna want to swap out the pistons to bump up the compression.

say it aint so... was not looking into swapping out the piston heads.

Im planning on doing a light overhaul on this particular engine so the budget is an issue; I may tough it out with these pistons although compression may be on the low end.

Yes. The L2323f are the 10:1 piston.

The second link you posted was for a small block chevy build with TRW L2278 pistons. A completely different application.
