Msd melonized gear

Looking for a Melonized gear for Msd 8566 dist. I bought one and it is .491. Does the msd already have a melonized gear ?? I need a .500

You could have the one you got, honed to .500 but finding someone to do it is another question.
Have you called msd?

The gear on your distributor is melonized, and works fine with a roller cam core, I checked with MSD, and been using one on my comp roller for about a year without issues.

Thanks everyone for the info. I chucked it up on the lathe at work and reamed distributer shaft hole to .500.
