Mondello VS ?

Hi All. Starting to build a '71 455. Anyone have any advice as far as machine work, parts (alum heads, etc) Edlebrock compared to Mondello? Just want a nice, quiet, ow torque cruiser. Going in a '57. Thanks.

If you just want a nice, quiet, torque cruiser, then a stock rebuild will suffice. I have a set of Edelbrock heads that I will be usuing for my build. When you say Mondello are you referring to Bernard Mondello/Procomp? I was going to buy some of those, but I got a good deal on Eddy heads.

The Bernard Mondello Procomps would be a good bang for you buck than to rebuild your stock heads. They are also assembled in house. Nothing wrong with rebuilding stocks head, but the cost of a rebuild will probably run you more than the $1000.00 for Bernard's version.

Not sure if you know, but Bernard Mondello is not affiliated with Mondello in Paso Robles,CA. Try a member here (Cutlass EFi) if you want a custom cam made. The cost is not much more than a off the self cam. Other members wil chime in, and offer advice/help. Here is a link to edelbrock vs procomp heads.... https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...edelbrock.html
