Lynx Battery cables
Has anyone ever purchased LYNX (battery cables? I'm looking at these that are 2 gauge with 12 gauge accessory wires. I'm wondering if they are worth the money and if they are reliable. It's a resto mod car so I don't need it to be original. The original equipment is very pricey and I'm not sure how different it is functionally from these: https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/9405299/00198. The positive is about the right length (~48”) but the negative is a little too long (38”).
Thanks,
Jim

I have noticed they come in various lengths if you get a 4 gauge. These were 2 gauge and they had the accessory/aux 12 ga. wire attached. From everything I read, it seems 2 gauge is the way to go.

I just bought 2 gauge cable, batt fittings and tool to connect fittings to cable using vise. Worked great but cable thick as hell and tough to work with. But with initial advance old batt cable would start to smoke on batt terminal

Advance Auto Parts has some 2 gauge top post cables in various lengths for reasonable prices from China. The quality seems reasonable, but probably nothing will beat the custom made ones if you don't mind doing the work.

Just the parts. It was pretty easy. Just get something like this to install ends on to cable. It just goes in a vice and clamp it. Put some of that heat shrink tubing over the ends and turns out pretty nice looking.

I always make my own. Have a similar crimper, bought in the welding supply section of my Ace hardware. That is where I get ring terminals. The battery ends I get at NAPA or online. I will add that I clean well and solder and use heat shrink after crimp.
