Intake manifold ID help please

I looked at a four barrel intake today with a W casting mark. I believe it to be from a 72 455. Am I close ? Is this a desirable intake ?

Thanks

Post a pic!
Is it aluminum?
Does it say W-455?
If it does, I have $350.
The more desirable ones
Are the one's with Chris W's
signature.

Just kidding, but a pic would be cool.

Sorry, don't have a pic. I did not see W-455 only the W. I did look at the casting number behind the carb but did not write it down. It is cast not aluminum.

What number should I be looking for ?

There should be a 6 digit #
followed by a letter and another #
on the rear of the manifold.
Not to be confused with the firing order
#'s.

Which would be an EIGHT digit number...

Seriously, a "W" casting intake will be casting number 412753, which is for a 1974 455 4bbl. It will have "OLDSMOBILE" cast on the front intake runner and will have provision for an EGR valve. Neither rare nor valuable unless one is restoring a 1974 H/O or 442.

Thanks Joe and all who responded. Sounds like it would make a nice anchor or doorstop.
